The casters on the S16 permanently mount to the legs. Toggle both ends down for moving and storing the lathe, and toggle them up when turning. There are three casters total. Two straight ones are mounted on the headstock end of the lathe and one swivel caster on the tailstock end. Because both ends toggle, you have ground clearance when moving and solid footing when turning. -
