    Robust Collet Handle System

    Whether you’re changing gouges or simply taking the handle off to make sharpening easier, the Robust Collet System makes it a quick job.  Just a twist of the wrist.   Robust designed the system around the popular ER series collets and each system comes equipped with four common sizes.   You can buy the system with or without handles: The handles are hard maple with a polyurethane finish. The overall length for the ER32 handle is 20.5″ and the ER25 is 16″.  If you want to make your own handle, buy the kit.  The kit has all the metal pieces, including the collets, as well as basic instructions. Collets in the ER 25 set: 1/4, 3/8, ½ & 5/8” Collets in the ER 32 set: 3/8, 1/2, 5/8 & 3/4" All of the ER series collets have an expansion range of a little more than 1/32"  To accommodate gouges that are slightly oversize, the collets we provide are actually 1/32" larger than nominal.  For instance, a 1/2" collet is actually 17/32". In regards to tools with square shanks, ER collets have eight segments. You'd want the corners of the square shank to register in them.  If the four collets we provide don't work, you should be able to find one online that will at nominal cost. Universal Stand

    $ 495.00$ 995.00
    Robust Universal Lathe Stand The Robust Universal Stand is the most adjustable, adaptable lathe stand on the market.  The Robust Scout, a 14” lathe bolts directly on.  By using an adapter board provided by the user, any small lathe can fit. The Universal Stand can raise the lathe up for a tall standing turner or dropped down and tipped forward  to accommodate a seated turner.  Please note, to change the height after initial assembly requires removing the lathe from the stand and disassembling the legs. The Universal Stand goes together quickly and easily with just two tools, a 1/2” wrench and a 9/16” wrench.  All hardware to assemble the stand is included. If used for any other lathe than the Robust Scout, additional hardware will be needed to attach your adapter board to the stand and to attach your lathe to the adapter board.  For the adapter board, a solid clear 2 x 10 is recommended, or two pieces of quality 3/4” plywood laminated together works well too. A three-caster set up is available for the Universal Stand.  Once installed, no tools are needed to engage and disengage the casters.  There are two straight casters that go on the headstock end and a swivel caster that goes on the tailstock end. The Universal Stand can fit almost any small or mid-sized lathe with user-supplied adapter boards.  Robust’s 14” Scout lathe bolts on directly . The Universal Stand height can be adjusted for almost any turner, short or tall (Apr. 38-50” spindle heights). The stand will also lower and tip forward up to 30° for a seated turner. Assembles with just two wrenches.  Tool racks are built in. Casters are optional. Please scroll down for more images and info !
