Comfort Rests earned their name because your hand fits comfortably in the radius of the rest, whether you use an overhand or underhand grip. You can also drop the handle of your tools at a greater than 45 degree angle for great shear scraping and skew cutting action. Click the links below for photos of the individual rests:
The post is 1" diameter and available in standard and long lengths. 1 1/8", 1 1/4" and 30mm diameter posts are available on special order.

Low Profile Rests are for spindle turners that like to wrap their hand around the tool rest. They are also your choice for smaller lathes. Like the Comfort rests, you can also drop the handle of your tools at a greater than 45 degree angle. Low Profile Rests

Mini Rests use the low-profile cross bar and have have a 5/8" diameter post that will fit most mini-lathes. 4", 6" and 9" long rests are available. We usually have a few in stock with 3/4" tool posts for Shopsmiths and the Oneway 1018. Click the links below for photos of the individual rests: |
