Bowl and Vessel Steady Rest

Steady rests are used to support large diameter bowls and hollow vessels when working on the interior. Long hollow forms especially need the support of a quality steady rest.

There are steady rests to fit four sizes of lathes: 16", 20", 24" and 25". All are constructed from a rolled ring made from 1.5" diameter 11 gauge steel tubing like you see here. The wheels are heavy duty & industrial quality, not roller skate wheels.

Please note the interference pins that remind you not to insert anything into the pinch point..

The base is offset so you can get your banjo up close to the work.
